When You Lose Your Hard Drive

I don't care how much you back up, when your hard drive goes...it hurts. I lost 10 years worth of emails. It was almost like a journal. I could look back at any date on my sent folder and could tell what was going on at that time of my life.

Sometimes I would spend an hour or two just reading old sent emails. I had some to Glen, Uncle Marlow, Aunt Mary. It is just like your house burning up with all the pictures. You can't replace it. On my now worthless hardrive, I had articles for the newspaper that I had intended to publish, all of my song lyrics for songs yet unfinished. So, I am a little bummed.

Then the little turkish twerp guys came and started messing around. That makes it all the more irritating. My site was backed up on .....you guessed it. The hard drive that burned up.

But really, Fran and I talk about this a lot. I don't really think that many people read the newspaper. So maybe this format is just as good. There are so many forums to stay in touch anymore. Facebook, myspace etc. I wonder if personal websites are just a thing of the past.

I guess I will lose all of my page rank. It was a PR 3 not bad for a year and growing. I am going to post as many old articles here as I can find before they disappear from google's Cache. So if your interested in the family news just log in here from now on. Enough feeling sorry for myself, time to move on.

Can we retrain us all so we too can post info. I think I know how but others might need a short lesson. Just the web address is probably to get them started. Those we truly are web freaks will figure it out.
